Welcome!

We’re excited that you are considering the Minnesota State Academies for the Deaf and the Blind as an educational option for your child.

Enrollment at MSA is completed through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and requires collaboration with your child’s home school district.

To get started, call us at 507-384-6600 or email info@msa.state.mn.us. Our team will guide you through each step of the process and answer any questions you may have.

How It Works

  1. Initial Contact
    A family member or school district representative contacts MSA to request information.

  2. Tour or Visit
    A campus tour or visit is scheduled with the family and/or district representatives. During this visit, we provide information about our programs and answer questions.

  3. IEP Meeting
    The home school district schedules an IEP meeting to discuss placement considerations at MSAD or MSAB.

  4. Placement Decision
    The IEP team determines whether placement at the Minnesota State Academies is appropriate based on the student’s educational needs.
