Enrollment

Welcome!
We’re excited that you are considering the Minnesota State Academies for the Deaf and the Blind as an educational option for your child.
Enrollment at MSA is completed through the Individualized Education Program (IEP) process and requires collaboration with your child’s home school district.
How It Works
Our goal is to work collaboratively with families and school districts to ensure each student receives the educational services and supports that best meet their needs
-
Initial Contact
A family member or school district representative contacts MSA to request information. -
Tour or Visit
A campus tour or visit is scheduled with the family and/or district representatives. During this visit, we provide information about our programs and answer questions. -
IEP Meeting
The home school district schedules an IEP meeting to discuss placement considerations at MSAD or MSAB. -
Placement Decision
The IEP team reviews the student’s educational needs and determines whether placement at MSAD or MSAB is the most appropriate educational setting.
